Marian Verbruggen, Ph.D. is a food chemistry and technology industry
expert with years of extensive global experience in the nutraceutical
and functional food arenas. During the past seven years with Acatris,
Marian has worked as Director of R&D, and is responsible for
managing research projects with existing Acatris ingredients and works
to develop new health ingredients to add to the Acatris portfolio.
Marian has become particularly knowledgeable in the field of
phytoestrogens, including soy isoflavones and flax lignans, and works
to initiate, coordinate and evaluate research projects in this area.
Prior to working for Acatris, Marian taught Food Technology for
four years at the Agricultural University in Delft, The Netherlands.
She received a Ph.D. in Food Chemistry from the Wageningen University,
The Netherlands.
